So, I really don’t feel that this mattress topper is worth anywhere near the cost. It’s not cooling by any sense of the word. It’s not very comfortable compared to other toppers that I’ve had. I expected it to be supportive, cooling and comfortable but it’s really not (at least to me) any of these things. I’d return it but it’s really too much trouble to try to cram it back in a bag or box in order to send it back. Not to mention it’s heavy! I’ve slept on this now for about 2 weeks now. At times it’s somewhat comfortable but others it seems like it’s very uncomfortable. I have not experienced any pain relief as far as my back or hips and my sleep quality has not improved from what I can tell. It does not seem like it’s 3 inches tall/deep but I haven’t actually measured the depth. You HAVE to use the straps to attach it to your mattress or it will slide all over the place and it is NOT easy to push back into place. As far as the ‘special’ foam inside, it’s kind of stiff but doesn’t seem to have any real support, it squishes down a lot under your body weight but feels stiff.
