El producto me gusto mucho , se siente muy fuerte y de buena calidad, las cuerdas que eh puesto hasta ahora muy bien, creo que vale mucho la pena, no tiene estuche sin embargo no lo están cobrando. Por el precio esta excelente.

LOVE this tool. I used it to make those factory holes in my van threaded. Now I can bolt on shelves and hooks and anything else I want!

  3. Jon Robles

Great tool. Worked very well . Lots of metric and SAE mandrills.

This rivnut tool is a fantastic deal for the price given all that is included and the overall quality of the item. Came with plenty of threaded inserts and dies. Fantastic build quality. Easy to use and worked perfectly on the first try. I have not used it for any heavy-duty applications given that the inserts are likely brass, but still for light to medium duty applications you cannot beat it.

Worked better than I expected it to. Instructions are not much use, but with video and a little testing it worked great. Easier than I thought it would be. Good selection of nuts and tool was easy to use.

Broke during first usage. Did about 7 nails..So pretty crappy

Great for the price. Very easy and simple to use. Doesn’t require much effort to compress the nuts. That being said, there’s no stop to keep from applying to much pressure. So with the smaller sizes it would be easy to apply to much force and break the mandrels. You have to get a feel for it. Only time will tell as to how long it holds up. Only reason for Only having 4 stars is because the description says with carton. It makes it sound like it comes with a blow molded case but it doesn’t come with any case unless you get the aluminum case option. It just comes in a cardboard box. My picture is of the husky cantilever organizer that I modified a little bit but it works great and has alot of room for more riv nuts . I have also added a drill chart for sizes because there’s nothing in the instructions about what drill sizes you’ll need

This thing is great and will pull a 1/2 rivnut. If you haven’t used rivnuts before I would recommend getting a smaller one or using caution if you just need/use 8s and 10s. You will break the smaller mandrels if you pull too much on the smaller rivnuts.

Rivnuts only need to be somewhat snug when seated. As soon as you feel resistance from the rivnut seating STOP. Screws/bolts will actually pull the rivnuts tighter when you anchor something with them.

This tool is nicely made and of excellent quality. You will have to get a tool box to keep it in with all of its accessories as it doesn’t come with a box. There are all sorts of rivnuts/inserts available online including Stainless Steel if you dont want to have any rust issues in the long term.

    WOULD RECOMMEND.

The fit and finish of this tool is legitimate. It looks/feels very well made. Initially I experienced a problem with the #10-32 mandrel. It snapped on the 3rd rivnut (see pics).
Note: I believe this failure to be MY FAULT due to using too much pressure. I didn’t set the stroke (amount/distance the rivnut would be crushed) correctly. The #10-32 rivnut is relatively small and it requires VERY LITTLE crushing pressure (a very small stroke; 3-3.5mm so I learned the hard way) to secure the nut. Because my mandrel snapped I had no choice but to switch to the M5 which is nearly identical in size (bolt diameter). The nut actually is identical in diameter/length etc to the 10-32 nut.; just the inner threads are slightly different, metric obviously. I proceeded to use the M5 with 3 to 3.5mm of stroke and the tool performed flawlessly. The was my first experience with a rivnut tool and I was surprised to learn how little crimping/crushing force is required for the nut to grip the sheet metal hole.
That being said, immediately after the #10-32 mandrel snapped I contacted the seller via Amazon on a Saturday afternoon (July 18, 2020) and I received a response within a couple hours. The nice lady instantly credited/refunded me the price of a replacement mandrel and provided a link directly to the product page. I placed an order for the replacement mandrel; it will arrive tomorrow. It was unfortunate that the component broke initially but it was fortunate that I found a suitable alternative due to the many other available mandrels in the kit. It is also fortunate that the seller is so responsive. This is how you earn and keep a good reputation and is a fine example of quality customer service. Well done, service lady (who’s name starts with ‘M’).

Note to seller: The instructions included with the product are a bit weak. This is not racquetball science (yes, I said, “racquetball” science) however it was not very clear how the mandrels are inserted/removed and the importance of adjusting the stroke is not mentioned nor is it explained well how to adjust. I would suggest adding an addendum or info card to the packaging for ordinary idiots like me. Perhaps include suggested stroke values for the various rivnut sizes; especially the smaller diameters as they can be fragile.

Thanks for great customer service and a quality tool.

    WOULD RECOMMEND.

    Oggetto ben fatto e robusto

Has all the sizes, tool seems as good as any other and works fine. Mandrels all in colour coded storage sleeves is fantastic. If you think you might need any of the sizes just buy this kit and be done.
Rivnuts just come in labelled baggies and there is no case or bag to keep the tool in but that is exactly what I wanted. Nuts went into the assortment box that I bought along with it and the tool is big enough to warrant a spot in the toolbox.

  12. Luis Sibaja

Installed 10 1/4-20 rivnuts in the roof of my Volvo with this. Worked perfect. Some tips: You need to practice. You need to determine the correct size hole for the rivnut. I used a bolt, washer and nut with two wrenches to crimp the rivnut before I got this tool. In the pictures the ones on the left front and back shows the installed but deformed rivnut using the bolt method. The ones on the right shows the perfect crimping using the tool. This practice was on 16 gauge aluminum. Now as to people who are breaking the threaded riveter – you are applying too much force. After the initial closing force it gets easier when the nut is crimping. As soon as you come to the next stopping point or resistance, STOP. You are done. The Handles do not need to be brought together all the way. The installation bolt will pull the riveted back side up against the metal and the piece you are fastening will apply opposing force to the metal the rivnut is in. Practice, practice, practice…..
