Description

  • 2 LEG STYLE CONVERTS TO NO LEG STYLE: To save space near the most congested part of your drum kit. With a Snare Stand, Cymbal Stand, Kick Pedal, and Hi-hat stand, all near the same area, the 2-legged style of this Hi-Hat stand will provide reduced footprint near this prime real estate. And for even more flexibility, the 2 legs fold straight up the shaft so that you can now use this as a no leg hi-hat style stand (see picture).
  • 360 DEGREE ROTATING LEGS: The 2 legs rotate 360 degrees around the bottom main pipe, allowing you to have even more freedom and flexibility with the floor space. With regular 3 leg style hi-hat legs that do not rotate, you are limited to where you can position your hi-hat stand. With this 2 leg rotating model, you can simply rotate the 2 legs to the left, right, front or back giving you much greater flexibility in the placement of your hi-hat stand.
  • SPRING TENSION ADJUSTMENT KNOB: At Griffin, we know that all drummers are not created equal. With that in mind, we added a spring tension adjustment knob that you can turn left to increase the pedal tension, or turn right to decrease the pedal tension. This adjustment knob allows personal settings for drummers who want a tighter firmer pedal action or looser for a smoother action.
  • HEAVY DUTY DRUM CYMBAL STAND CHROME HARDWARE: This is Griffin’s heavy-duty hi-hat stand model # H600A. With a very thick 28.6mm base pipe, 18” long double-braced legs that are 7mm thick, oversized turning knobs, deluxe hi-hat clutch cymbal mount for your hi-hat cymbals, and weighing 11 pounds, this shiny, chrome hi-hat stand will sure take the beating and heavy use you are going to give it.
  • DELUXE UPGRADE FEATURES: Boasting additional upgrade features not found on standard hi-hat pedals, this model includes: double chain pull action, deluxe cymbal clutch, large anti slip rubber feet, dual bottom floor spikes, metal toe stop, solid steel pedal plate frame, heavy duty grip foot pedal, and a slip proof memory lock.

I gave this hi-hat stand 5 stars even though it is the heaviest I have ever used. I gig a lot and use lite weight stands lite weight drum shells lite weight everything. But this stand is a monster. It weighs a ton and it doesn’t fold up, so it’s terribly inconvenient to pack and gig with. That being said, it does what it is supposed to do and does it extremely well so I gave it 5 stars. It’s very stable with just the 2 legs. The pedal can pivot so you can get just the position you want. And the action works perfectly. You can also adjust the spring tension. Usually heavier hat stands are harder for me to play the action is heavy. This one plays incredibly well. I got t because our jazz combo plays a regular gig every month and we don’t have much space, with a short 3 foot tall wall in front of us. I can put this hi-hat stand right up against the wall because it only has 2 legs. Only wonky attribute is the rubber fixture the bottom hat rests on and the tilt screw. The screw doesn’t allow as much tilt as I’d like, but it still adds a bit of tilt and works great for our jazz sound with 16″ very paper thin hats.

Absolutely Love this Hi Hat stand! The action is smooth, quality of material is heavy duty, clean, and in good working order, limited wobble compared to more well known brands, for Griffin to have such a quality peace of gear is either a rarity or their standards are raising to compete. I saw other reviews that said the riveting is loose. I didn’t have that experience the rivets are contacted nice and tight but not so tight the equipment doesn’t want to move. Overall would recommend this hi hat stand.

Excellent hi-hat stand very sturdy. Would buy again for sure. Nice product. Highly recommended

This thing is sturdy and beefy. The chrome finish is also surprisingly good. Doesnt feel cheap and flimsy at all. It is on the heavier side but I dont move my setup so it’s not an issue for me. I like the spring adjustment as well. Works very well. Can’t go wrong with this stand especially for the price.

I tried this because I am a double bass player and I have a hard time getting traditional stands close enough for comfort. I liked the no leg option and thought the two leg might work. It doesn’t. Using it as a legless stand the legs are still in the way. I fixed this by cutting the legs off completely and Using a Gibraltar clamp that mounts it to the bass drum. A common complaint is it’s heavy, but removing the legs lightens it up a bit, the are quite beefy. The stand is sturdy, the action is good has plenty of adjustment and with the bass clamp mount it is rock solid 👍 the price is great for what you get and I think it would hold up many years of abuse 😀 if you have a grinder and $30 for a clamp you won’t be disappointed! I’d give 5 stars if Giffen figured out a way to make the legs detachable without sacrificing quality.

Seems solid enough, but lots of wobbly play in the two legs.

Great hi-hat stand. Two leg design is versatile and allows plenty of room for second kick drum pedal. It is very well made and the double chain provides smooth action. Quick delivery.

First of all, customer service ranks top notch. There was a mix up in shipping. Once addressed, Griffin acted to make things right.

About the product itself, the design seems to be public domain. I mean, I’ve found two other brand names selling virtually the same stand, only difference in brands are the in the design of the foot pedal, and how the foot plate mounts to the stand. I knew this from the start, and decided to go with Griffin anyway. Griffin has a more no nonsense design with their foot pedal. Their major competitor’s looks like some wannabe Viking-metal-whatever. Griffin’s looks like it’s for business.

The negative’s highlighted in some reviews are not deal breakers to me.

*Some griped about the weight. The stand weighs in about 12 pounds. Solution: travel with minimum equipment. Just an example: three cymbal stands and a four piece kit. For cymbal stands, PDP 700 series will git ‘er done. For pedals, any light but sturdy single chain pedal. DW 2000 feels nice and moves fast.

*There was a critique concerning the two key bolt method for securing the pedal base plate to the stand. Complaint made fuss over losing key bolts. Hey, that’s why God gave us tackle boxes. Never travel without spare… everything. And just for the record, you don’t really need two key bolts to secure the plate. My stand came with three bolts: one for each side, and one for the front. For quick setup, I don’t need all three bolts. The front bolt and the two spring loaded anchor spikes, are all that’s needed to keep the plate sturdily in place. This method can save a few seconds (or minutes depending on the fumblerooskies) with set up.

*Someone complained about stability. For stability, I gave it 5 stars. Compared to any three leg stand, a two legger is going to fall short. I compared the Griffin to a couple of duecers already in my possession: A Pearl 2050, and a DW 3500T. All three stands plant pretty much the same. Stability depends on where the legs are positioned, and how you set up the base and legs.

The only improvement I could think of to make this a more competitive product would be, and I know this is some serious nit picking:

*A little less meat on the clutch. The wing nut is massive for what’s needed. The problem with this is… it just looks awful.

    Works well

It is heavy but that does not deter me as I dont gig so this just stays in one place. Its is very solidly build. The rubber bottom rest for the HH helps with sustain which can be a good or not so good thing depending on what you want. What I like best is how smooth the pedal and double chain system are on this. Sooooo Smooooth. I was nervous based on the price point but this blows away my more expensive 3 leg stand. I really needed the extra space for my double kick pedal. Perfect addition to my kit.
