     They are not quite as pictured. Not flame like, just flashy. I made these lanterns for Halloween. They look pretty good in the dark.

    First off, the bulbs don’t look like the picture. The flicker is nice, but the diffusion is pretty heavy, so you get more of an ambient flicker, but can’t see the “flame” much at all. It’s like they went to all the trouble to make the elements look like flame and then hid it behind so many curtains that all you see is the overall light intensity moving up and down, but none of the detail. The scatter in the plastic hides the flame details.

    When I said the bulbs don’t look like the picture, the housing is white, not blue. Whoever made that mockup doesn’t understand how light works. That’s just bad marketing material and deceptive as to what the flames will look like.

    They’re good enough for my porch sconces, although I’d have preferred if they weren’t THAT saturated. I’d rather have them be blue-tainted white instead of hard blue. It would be more realistic.

    The flicker effect is perfect for our seed glass fixture. Very authentic. However, half the time it comes on it stays on but no flicker efffect. If I flip the switch a time or two it will go back to flickering but then will go back to staying solid on. Not sure why. Quality seems lacking for that reason.

    I didn’t really know what to expect but my expectations were low nonetheless. I was pleasantly surprised by how cool these looked an promptly ordered 4 additional sets for Halloween decorations. Not overly bright, but puts out enough to light up the immediate area. The flickering effect combined with the blue hue is the real selling point. Obviously cannot attest to longevity as they have minimal use time at this point. I figure if I can get 5 or 6 Halloween nights out of them it’s worth the money spent.
