I think that $3000 is very expensive for what you get.. Price is definitely a downfall.. Especially with the lack of replaceable parts if they break..

I took the battery pack off to see what it was, and to see how much a replacement pack would cost.. I could not find a replacement battery pack anywhere.. So what happens when it goes bad?? There goes 3 grand down the drain..

I did find a few glitches.. When we went to turn it on, about once out of every 10 to 15 times, it would not fully turn on.. You hit the power button, and it would beep.. and the battery indicator light would only go up to 1 bar.. I simply turned the power off and then back on and it would work with no problem..

The chair was taken on about a 2.5 mile round trip to see how it would hold up.. I found that on uneven pavement, that had 90 degree bumps, this chair hung up on anything much over 1″ high bumps.. Now if the bump was at say, a 45 degree angle, it was more forgiving.. So if out in the city, this is something to take into consideration.. In places like malls and stores, not a problem..

Before the trip was taken, the chair was fully charged.. When we got back, I checked the meter to see how much power was left in the battery.. It was down 2 bars, or used about 40% of the battery charge.. This makes me question their 9.3 mile rating that they give.. I would guess that it is probably more reliable at around 6 miles (maybe 7 at most), not 9.3..

It was very easy to put together and get up and using.. No complaints here..

It is really light, which is nice too.. Just about anyone can pick it up, from the young to the elderly..

Very compact makes it very easy to store or load.. Good job here..

You have to be very small to be comfortable in this.. I have a 4″ high roho air cushion here, and we put one of them on this.. With it on there, it was decently comfortable to use.. Still felt a little squished, but it was not too bad.. Without the cushion, it was very uncomfortable to sit on.. and that coming from someone that is only 5’2″.. The cushion that they give you has no real padding.. It is more for decoration to make it look nice than anything.. Basically, a seat cover that you can take off when it gets dirty to wash. Expect nothing from it..

When using it, I did notice a few times that it seemed to hesitate for no reason.. But then started working fine after that.. It was almost like a slight loss of battery power for a second, and then back to normal.. Not sure what to make of it.

I tested the speed using an app on my phone.. It said that, at max speed, on a flat level surface, that it went 6km an hour.. Obviously going down hill will be faster, and uphill will be slower..

ADA is 1″ per foot.. I think the steepest that we used it at was about 1.3″ incline per foot.. It had the power to get up that with no problem.. Power uphill was no an issue.

Final thoughts.. It was decent in power, easy to fold up and transport, easy to store, not too bad in comfort if you put a thick cushion on it, very uncomfortable without one.. I don’t like that you can not find a replacement battery, and I think the price is way too high for what it is.. Would I recommend it.. Not at this price.. If they dropped the price down a LOT, and added a second battery, then maybe.. But definitely not as things are right now.

This chair is just what was told about in their ad. I can lift it to put it in my car trunk. I took it to the grocery store for the first time using it. It worked really well. I could turn it around in the isle with no problem. It does turn on a dime. I am no longer going to have to worry if there will be a store chair for me to use. It is worth what I Paid for it. It was very comterful to ride in also.

This powered wheelchair weighs just about the same as our manual wheel chair. I haven’t weighed them both to compare, but they both weigh just about the same.

The carbon fiber frame is what makes this super light weight.

The biggest benefit of this wheel chair over a traditional manual wheel chair is that you don’t need to rely on someone to push you around. My mother in law doesn’t have very strong arms, so spinning the wheels on a manual wheel chair is not very easy. Having a powered wheel chair makes it much easier for her to navigate herself by herself without relying on someone to be around to push her around.

Folds down just as flat as a regular wheelchair. Overall, a great upgrade to her existing chair.

I can’t say enough good things about this power chair. I really like the fact that it’s compact and can fit in the trunk of our car. It’s comfortable and easy to operate. The quality of the chair is also well-made and sturdy. I am putting heavy people in this chair and it performs well. So far, the battery seems to be operating for the time I need it, but it’s been periodic during the day. This is worth the money.

  5. Kaniki

This electric wheelchair is very lightweight. Most manual wheelchairs weight about 40# and electric chairs weigh a lot more. This one is only 26 lbs and folds easily, making it so much more portable. The back isn’t super high, but it’s a great chair and the battery lasts for 9 miles.

I saw another review indicating that this was too small for a person who was larger, but took a chance and got it for a 6 foot, 195 pound male. It works fine and is suitable in size, the battery life is good, and it is absolutely portable and can be carried on a plane.
This doesn’t have enough juice for a day at Disney World, but it does work to get around the trailer park or go get the mail, or go to the pool for some physical therapy.
It appears to be durable, and has no defects in the first week of use. Easy enough for two 75-year-olds to build without assistance.

This is a review for Journey Health & Lifestyle Dining Power Chair, Black | Carbon Fiber | 26 lbs | Folding | Electric | Portable Motorized | Adults

I got this for my mother in law and I am truly impressed. She no longer has to rely on anyone to push her around nor have to use her strength. She can navigate on her own, which she feels like she has gain her independence back.

The wheelchair effortlessly folds and unfolds by pulling on one of the handles. It folds down pretty compact, which is key when you need to transport this and have a small car. The battery pack does need to be charged regularly, but it’s a small trade off for the freedom and flexibility this wheelchair offers. The joystick can be mounted on either side of the wheelchair, depending if you are a righty or lefty. Overall, my mother in law loves it.
