    This would be great if it actually worked. You’re better off just tying your line to a stick. The reel is garbage and the geometry of the pole isn’t conducive to casting or reeling in. I wouldn’t recommend this.

    This is a terrible fishing rod. It looks nice but it did not work. Please do not buy it.

    Just had to try it out same day it arrived. Went out to the bridge and caught a flounder! This is very sturdy. Yes, you can change the reel if you like. It casts out beautifully. The included reel comes spooled which is a nice touch. I added my hook, bait and weight. I have several poles with reels of different configurations and this little cutie I think I will use the most due to the convenience of it’s size. It will stay in my glovebox for when the mood strikes– I can just go cast out at the bridge.

    For a little travel fishing pole this thing is great. It is small, compact and is quick to assemble. The line was pretty cheap so got better line but overall this works great in a survival bag.

    My biggest fear when I ordered this was that it was going to be cheap, thin and flimsy. It is actually quite sturdy and has some weight to it. The reel works fine and can be changed out. I am pleasantly surprised and can’t wait to try casting with it.
