The staging was amazing, the make up was amazing, the quality of the transfer to disc is amazing. I get to enjoy it time after time and see something new each time. Don’t forget to watch the extras – you will be truly amazed.

A wonderful soundtrack highlighting what was and is a highly entertaining and magical movie which, sadly, was not well received at the box office; listening to this wonderful music itself one can well imagine that the singing , dancing and acting demand equal appreciation ; so , if you chose not to see the movie, think again and buy the video or at least this amazing Cats soundtrack.

This soundtrack is different from the play, for the better. If I wanted the play, I would’ve watched it. Except for the overture, all the songs were given new arrangements and different singers. Jellicle song for Jellicle cats has new male singers singing the parts instead of female. Thanks to the solos near the end of the song, I can finally understand what they’re saying! Victoria joining at the end was nice, too. The Old Gumbie cat is annoying, in the play and here. The singer was good, but the cat doesn’t do much, besides watch cockroaches and mice in the kitchen. I feel the same about Rum Tum Tugger, except for the new orchestrations and the singer. That cat is supposed to be annoying. The milk comment was funny, too. Bustopher Jones does more here, for comedy. You can’t eat and sing at the same time. Otherwise, James can’t spell his last name, did all right. Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer’s song was slower here, because the older version was used. At first, I thought Rumpleteazer was American trying to sound British, but she isn’t. Another verse from the poem is added here, not on the original dvd. Judi Dench is perfect as Old Deuteronomy. Glad she got to be in this, even though she’s older now. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Taylor Swift wrote Beautiful Ghosts, sung by Victoria. The lyrics are haunting, but fit the story. Gus’s song was done well, a theater actor playing a theater cat. Skimbleshanks was energetic, tapping his way through to the end.Everyone had fun with that one. Macavity was Taylor Swift’s solo, still not a fan. The catnip was a nice touch. Mr. Mistoffeles needed encouraging, and that’s where Victoria came in near the end. On try three, he was finally able to do his trick. Pretty much the play. Jennifer Hudson makes Memory her own. She was good as Grizabella. Judi Dench sang this last song, almost without instruments. Good ending, glad this wasn’t cut. Taylor Swift finally gets to sing the last song, notice the extra verse? I like both versions.
This is live, so each song has crashes, train sounds, crying, and dancing all over them.

I am one of the few who actually liked the movie (though, I had not expected to, even being a huge Dame Judi fan), and was quite tickled to get the soundtrack. However, I want more than just the ‘highlights’. There is so much that could, that SHOULD have been on the soundtrack. Perhaps a Deluxe Edition will happen (though not likely).
Still, the songs are enjoyable, and the CD is a lovely companion piece to the movie.

No dislikes at all! Saw it twice at the theater and have watched my DVD 3 times so far. Play it for my friends and
family and never tire of it. (Did not see the play.) Did buy the CD. Music is great!!

Despite what the critics and attention-grabbing social media starlets say, “Cats” is an amazing film. One of the reasons that the film is so great is the wonderful music that it features. While this CD isn’t a complete volume of all of the music from the film, it features all of the individual Cat songs lifted straight from the film as well as the beloved “Memory” and “Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats.”
Highlights include “The Rum Tug Tugger,” “Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat,” and “Mr. Mistoffelees.” As stated before, each song is lifted directly from the film, so if there’s a loud crashing noise, a choke, or any other sounds in the film, you’ll hear them on this album.
Featured vocalists include Rebel Wilson, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Hudson, and Francesca Hayward, among others. If there is anything to complain about in this set, it’s the addition of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Taylor Swift track “Beautiful Ghosts.” Of all of the songs in the film and on this album, “Beautiful Ghosts” fails to live up to the grandeur and beauty of the others. It’s not a bad song. It just feels as if it was tossed into the fray in order to get Swift a little more exposure so that her legion of pop fans would see the film. I understand why Swift was included in this film, but she was definitely out of her league when compared to the other vocalists.
That said, this is still a great album. I highly recommend it and the film as well.

I am a big fan of Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. I absolutely love this movie and its soundtrack. I’ve been listening to it on repeat since it released. It is a great adaptation of the stage musical and poems.
Andrew and Clayton –
My MIL asked the the original Cats for Christmas, so we got her that, but we also got her this new track as well. She loves them both!

Cats is a great soundtrack to listen to. Awesome!
Geneviève Audet –
Bonne trame sonore. Film raté ! La version originale de Londres était cependant supérieure, de loin. Quand même pas mal.

We went to see the movie “Cats” on Christmas day & loved it. Had to get this so I could brush up on the songs. And am waiting on the actual movie to be released!
