I’ll get this point out of the way- I wasn’t wild about how everything looked on the guitar- I mean the humbuckers are cool and sound pretty good but they do not go with the reddish/creme theme. Everything works well on the guitar. The neck/fretboard are extremely smooth and comfortable with rounded stainless steel frets. The locking machine heads are 1:18 ratio and work well. The guitar came stock with a bone nut- not the usual cheap plastic nuts I find on many other entry-level guitars.
I modded the guitar out as I always tend to do with budget guiders. I was shocked to find full-sized pots and a good vintage switch in the electronics cavity. Many budget guitar manufacturers spend most of the $ on the guitar’s body, neck, and fretboard. They really skimp on the pickups usually installing very cheap, brittle ceramic pickups. I’m also used to seeing small, cheap pots and cheap switches/jacks. So this was a pleasant surprise along with the full-sized, solid brass tremelo block. I’m used to finding thin, cheap zinc or pot metal blocks. Roasted maple neck/fretboard are really nice too. I love the frets- very, very smooth. The guitar plays really well. All I had to do was tune it up. The intonation and string height were spot on. You may want to replace the strings. Very simple upgrade. You can find many helpful videos online for help with basically everything from stringing a guitar to soldering in electronics or pickups.
All I did was swap the out the pickups for a set of Korean made Wilkinson A5 humbuckers, put in steel saddles I had laying around, and then re-wired the electronic cavity. The guitar plays really well. It also comes stock with a bone nut. As stated I have many, many guitars. I was shocked to find higher-end features in a budget guitar.
This is my first Bullfighter guitar. I decided to try it out after reading many reviews on other Bullfighter guitar models. The other guitarist I write music with tried this guitar out and asked you’re keeping this one right? Yep- oh I upgrade and then sell guitars. I only keep the really nice ones. Simply put I’m impressed with this Bullfighter Tele HH hybrid guitar.

The five star rating is based on the type of guitar that it is and not what it isn’t. I was looking for a mod platform and this guitar will definitely suffice. However this guitar was playable right out of the box the action was a bit high for myself but completely acceptable, almost perfectly in tune, fit and finish look awesome!, pick- ups sound really good even though I will upgrade, locking tuners work great and love the pearloid knobs. This thing feels solid when you hold it and is very well built, the frets and ends are very smooth and the roasted maple neck has nice C shape. Looks like they even put poly on the head stock, nice! The electronics are really good, full size pots and a solid switch. This is a great guitar for a beginner has they have done a super job setting it up to be so playable and super great for the modder’s such as myself. Also the two point tremelo is very stable and has a brass big block for better sustain. The VALUE you get for the price of this instrument is outstanding so if your thinking about grabbing one I would!

OK, I’ve got a few Bullfighter bass guitars, and one other guitar from them. I would say the Bullfighter brand has quality control problem’s in the past, and most of my bass guitars needed a lot of work. Sharp fret ends, lose parts, and non where I would call playable. All of the woodworking I must say (for the most part) was first class, but it seemed like they had no one to put them together the right way, and just had to send them out the door that way to stay in business. Now this new designed guitar: I found one flaw, like a deep scratch on the back of the finish ( the shipping box had holes in it) but if it was not for that is was in mint shape. This is the best guitar Bullfighter has ever produced. I’m in a professional band and I play bass guitar, I do play guitar in my recording studio as well, and that’s why I got it. My professional guitar player in our band played it last night for a hour and it sounded so good. Sit in the mix really well with the rest of the band. Has a great C shaped neck and is very fast to play leads on, my guitar player was very impressed with the build quality on this model D230. It looks very nice, sets good on your lap if your sitting down, and is well balanced. Stayed in tune good, the only thing we did not like was the whammy bar sit up. We may at some point change that bridge out for a better quality one. The bar does not lock in or snap in, so it can just fall out when your playing, not good. But the pick-up’s are hot and sound great. The neck was set up almost spot on, and the fret ends where baby smooth, nothing sharp. Note* The guitar has a Gryker bridge tremolo system with a brass block and yes the handle does screw in, I thought when I got it it just slipped in with no whammy lock, but the whammy bar is drilled and threaded and screws on fine, very nice. Could be packaged in a double box, mine has pretty good size holes thru it and maybe why is did get a scratch on the back finish, but I’m keeping this one. All and all we give the D230 two thumps way up, nice looking AX at a price point most everyone can afford. So if your looking to get a serious guitar I would buy this model before they are all gone, it’s a real keeper.
