I want to start with something that got me on the wrong foot with this book straight away. This is real advice given to the reader in this book: “If I haven’t offended anyone by noon, you’re not marketing hard enough…” This is a quote by another person, not the author (borrowed like 90% of the things in this book but I’ll get into that later), but it is endorsed. This has to be one of the worst pieces of marketing advice I have ever heard in my entire life. I read that line, and immediately had a bad taste in my mouth as I went forward.
I had no real knowledge of the author before reading but knew of clickfunnels just by nature of my job in marketing. This book is just a glorified marketing piece for his business and really provided no additional value than that. This is a book loaded with concepts created by other people that he then borrows with some additional “This is how I started CLickfunnels, have you heard of clickfunnels? You should by Clickfunnels” thrown in. I don’t think I have read more “I’s” in a book before. It felt a lot like sitting down at dinner with that high school friend you haven’t seen in forever that wants to meet not to see how you are, but to make sure you know how successful they are.
I did give it 2 stars because the concepts that he takes from others (he does credit them so it’s not like he is stealing them) are somewhat valuable and I know there are a few other books I am going to read because of this one.
But overall this is just a book used to boost someone’s ego a bit more, won’t give you a ton of extra value, and leave you feeling a bit dirty after. Don’t let all the clickfunnel truthers make you think this is a good book… it’s just not.
