  1. Heretic

This isn’t the greatest pan in the world but, for the price, it works well. Its non-stick surface probably won’t last but, for $13 bucks, what more can you ask for. It’s basically a disposable pan that may last a year or so.

Edit: Maybe I was wrong. Maybe this IS the greatest pan in the world! I’ve had it over 6 months and I have not been gentle to this pan in the slightest, but the non-stick coating hasn’t noticeably worn and the pan looks as good as the day I received it. I highly recommend this pan to anyone looking for a good, durable, non-stick, 10-inch cooking pan.

Very nice skillet. No sticking and heat food very well

  3. Toland E. Reed

I just received this skillet and did a test with some eggs. Only a fool would not use at least a little butter or oil, that being said the skillet performed very well. No sticking, no burning, and clean-up was extremely easy. I will most likely use this for eggs and such. I do not need to try it without oil or butter. I think that is just silly. All in all it I am happy with it, it will do all I expect it to do. With the tv hype aside it is a well made and useful addition to my kitchen. Time will tell if it will last. I will post updates if anything changes.

I’m a retired chef, and I can’t complain about this pan, especially for the price. I bought it originally as a lid for my Tramontina 10″ frying pan.
It’s not really a sauteé pan, as instructions say to use it on low to medium heat, so searing and frying will probably damage the nonstick coating. It’s also pretty heavy, although that’s not necessarily a bad thing, depending upon what you want to use it for.
It seems to heat evenly and the handle rivets hold the handle securely… I honestly don’t know how to judge how well the handle dissipates heat, since I commonly reach into a hot oven and move things around bare handed, so use your common sense and know your own heat tolerance. It takes years to desensitize one’s hands to this degree, so just check on your own. The handle design is common and others seem ok with it, so I’ll have to take them at their word.
All in all a serviceable frying pan.

Have other brand pans too, but keep coming back to Gotham Steel. My first Gotham Steel pan sets were the original copper outside and inside, titanium/ceramic non-stick. They lasted about 3 years before showing scratches and wear. Gotham pans are a great value when compared to other leading brands. I first found this cast iron-type black interior coating offered from Gotham in a square griddle pan, primarily used to make pancakes. It worked so well, I searched for round pans to match. I now own both the 10 and 12-inch pans, and really appreciate the thicker pan rim and amazing non-stick improvement over the originals. As always with Gotham Steel pans, be sure to use a low to medium heat (no higher than 5-6 on glasstop burner) to ensure a non-stick cooking experience. High heat can be used to bring the pan up to temperature, but then lower the heat immediately. These pans hold their heat once at temperature, and this black ceramic interior does so even better than the original. Oven safe to 500F, these pans make an amazing evenly baked skillet cookie for example.
Not all pans are safe in the oven to 500F, so this is a testament to the quality of the pan and non-stick surface. Whilst the pan handles are smooth and rounded for proper grip, they are a forked-rivet and hollow handle design. A solid handle would have been better, but this new design sure beats the original pan’s flat handle in terms of grip comfort. These pans are pre-seasoned and non-stick, but from experience, it would be best to wash with soap before first use as normal, but then use oil to lightly coat the pan and heat on stovetop with a low heat for about 15-20 mins. This will ensure a smooth non-stick surface, and can be repeated every so often as necessary. Cleanup is a breeze. Never need the dishwasher, as everything just hand washes with ease.

After reading the reviews on Amazon about this frying pan, and reading the product description, I thought this sounded like a fantastic buy. I want to point out that I did see a negative review, however the reviewer posted a picture of a totally different frying pan – this one has a black non-stick surface whereas the negative review showed a different colour. On to my review:

    Quality: 11/10

The reviews that say that you can use this pan without any oil/butter/etc. are 100% accurate. Just this morning I made pancakes with no oil and the non-stick surface works like a charm. Everything we’ve fried slides off the surface with zero fuss. The build quality of this pan is absolutely crazy. The sides are thick and the pan has head distribution on par with a cast-iron pan. The pros are it heats extremely evenly and liquid sits evenly.

The one tradeoff related to the sturdiness of this pan, is that much like a cast iron pan, this pan takes longer to heat up and longer to cool down – so taking it off the heat won’t necessarily stop the cooking.

    Design: 9/10

This pan is very nearly a perfect pan with two very minor exceptions. First, the handle has a small hole near where it attaches to the pan itself. I find that if I drip batter accidentally it tends to get in this hole and it is a little hard to clean. Fortunately it’s stainless steel and a narrow brush can get in there. The other downside to the design of this pan is that the edges of the pan are quite steep, meaning that if you are flipping something like a pancake, you will likely need a second utensil to push the pancake against in order to flip ir properly, otherwise, due to the amazing non-stick surface, your pancakes end up sliding up the wall of the pan rather than going onto your flipper. This is a small tradeoff because the positives of the design are that the pan looks good, has a hole for hanging, and is easy to clean. It’s also quite light which makes the previously mentioned heat distribution and sturdiness really an amazing accomplishment.

    Summary:

This is the first Gotham Steel pan that I’ve owned, but it won’t be the last. I’m now planning to replace all of my frying pans with similar pans from the same company. Best frying pan ever!

  7. S. Bruno

Gotham Steel non-stick frying pan is terrific. heat distributes evenly around the bottom and is very easy to clean just using a sponge.

  8. collegestudent781

As a college student, I have to walk to the campus center to retrieve my package and then walk back to my dorm (about a 10 minute walk both ways). This pan was so light that I didn’t even realize that it was my pan until I opened the package. I was tossing the package up and down the entire way back to my dorm and not realizing that it contained my pan, that’s how lightweight it is.
The pan is extremely easy to use and clean, considering how I use the dorm’s communal kitchen. It is easily scratched (but that’s also because I don’t have any cooking utensils and just use chopsticks to cook) but that’s beside the point. Extremely versatile, I use the pan from pan frying to boiling water for the midnight ramen snacks. Must buy and extremely cheap!

  9. Cliente de Amazon

Nada se le pega, durable. Tienes que curarlo con aceite y baja temperatura antes de usarlo por primera vez

  10. julia pender

It’s always hard to tell from the picture, but this is a very solid, sturdy pan. It’s a great size for stir-fries if you don’t want to break out the wok. It rinses clean with very little effort. I’ve used it almost daily since I purchased it, and it still looks like new.

  11. Georgie Girl

I’ve used this thing a dozen times in the past week. It is magnificent! Easy to clean, looks high-end, cooks very well aside from the standard hot spot in the middle that we expect from non-stick cookware.

The only thing that would have made this product even better would have been if it came with a lid. When I need one, I use a glass lid from my old 8-quart stockpot, which fits like they were made for each other.

If you’re on the fence about buying this pan, do it! You won’t be sorry.

  12. Patricia

I have gone through multiple pans that claim they are non stick. I have used this for several months and it is truly non stick. High recommend on this pan.

  13. Zander

I’ve had this pan for over a year now, and after regular use, it’s still the best frying pan I’ve ever used. It cooks great, it’s easy to clean, and the nonstick surface is still pristine. Normally in my experience, the teflon degrades over time even with rubber utensils, but I haven’t experienced that at all here.
